What is the Golden Heart Run?
- The Golden Heart Run is the signature fundraiser for The Golden Heart Fund, a player-led support network for former 49ers and their families. The Golden Heart Run is a family-friendly walk/run that takes place in person at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on November 2nd, 2024. All ages, all fitness levels welcome!
What time does the 4.9K walk/run event start?
- The 4.9K walk/run event starts at 8am in Levi’s Stadium. We recommend you arrive early enough to be inside your corral, at least 15 minutes before race start.
If I can't get to Santa Clara, can I still participate?
- You’re in luck! The Golden Heart Run will also be open to virtual participants.
Are spectators allowed?
- Yes! Please visit our website to secure a free spectator ticket
Is parking available on-site?
- Yes! Parking is available in Red Lot 1 at Levi's Stadium. Please click here for directions!
Are bags allowed?
As a virtual runner, what should I use to track my miles and report them?
- Miles will be tracked through your Race Roster registration. Use whatever tracker app you like and add your miles using your
virtual bib numberlast name and confirmation number which can be found on your receipt. You can also locate it on your participant dashboard here (please note you must be logged in to view your participant dashboard).
Does everyone get a shirt and medal?
- Every 4.9K walk/run event registrant – in person and virtual – will get a medal and a Sport-Tek® race shirt. Both will be available for in-person packet pickup or with the option for shipping.
Will I need to have my materials shipped?
- Virtual runners will receive their items via mail. In-person participants can pick up their bib, shirt, and additional purchased items at in-person packet pickup in the days prior to The Golden Heart Run. In-person participants can also choose to pay $12.00 to have their add-ons, bib, and shirt mailed to them prior to race day. Please note: if you are registering multiple participants in one order, you will need to select the bib mailer for each participant.
- To receive your shirt by race day Virtual runners must register by 10/18 (Hawaii & Canada may not receive their shirts by race day)
What is the distance?
- The Golden Heart Run is 4.9K or 3 miles. The Kids’ Run is .49K or 1/3 of a mile.
How can I change my shirt size after I have registered?
- We are happy to help you change your shirt size. Just shoot us an email at info@goldenheartfund.org and we can help you out. After in-person packet pick up, we will not able to accommodate shirt changes or exchanges.
Where do I find my Bib Number?
- Bib numbers will be assigned closer to the date of the race. Once available, you will be able to find it on your participant dashboard.
When can I pick up my packet?
- Packet pick up is available on-site the 49ers Team Store at Levi's Stadium on Thursday, October 31 and Friday, November 1 from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.
* Please note packet pick up is available on race day but early pick up is highly encouraged*
Are there kids’ sizes for the 4.9K race t-shirt?
- We will not be providing kid specific t-shirts for the 4.9K race participants.

How do I create a team during my registration?
- Click Register to begin the registration process > Enter in all participant information > Select “Yes, create a new team and add this registrant” under the question Add registrant to a team? > Type in a Team Name > Click Agree to the terms of the Team > Continue with the registration process. For additional help, reference this Race Roster article.
How can I sign up multiple people during registration?
- Easily! Click Register to begin the registration process > Enter in all participant information > at the bottom of the page, click ADD ANOTHER REGISTRANT at the bottom of the page (this will bring you to a registration form for Participant #2) > repeat steps 1-3 for additional participants > select CONTINUE to checkout. Only you will receive a confirmation email, please share it by forwarding the email to your fellow registrants. How do I fundraise?
- Easily! Click the Menu button and look for the section titled FUNDRAISING > select the option best suited to you (donate to a participant, donate to a team, make a donation, or share your fundraising page) > you can either fundraise on your own or be a part of a team > share your page with others so they can donate to you or your team's page! Can kids register for the 4.9K race?
- Yes, children aged 5 - 15 may register for the Kids Run, the 4.9K race or both! Kid’s Run participants will not receive a finisher medal and will receive the Golden Heart Run “Kids Run” race shirt and a special prize. This shirt is different from the race shirt that adults or those over age 12 receive when they register for the 4.9K walk/run event.
If my kid is registered for the Kids Run, do they receive a finisher medal?
- No — but kids registered for the 4.9K walk/run, either in person in Santa Clara or virtual will get a medal.
What Are Your COVID Policies and Protocols?
- The Golden Heart Fund plans to host The 2024 Golden Heart Run, in person, on November 2nd, 2024, in Santa Clara, California, in and around Levi’s Stadium, abiding by COVID-19 mitigation guidance from Santa Clara County, as well as guidance from the Center for Disease Control (“CDC”). Given the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the protocols and mitigation guidance may change between the time you opt in and November 2nd, 2024 when The 2024 Golden Heart Run takes place.
By agreeing to participate in The Golden Heart Run 2024, you agree to abide by the Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s recommendations for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and attest to having read the CDC’s guidance at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html. You also agree to abide by any COVID-19 distancing and other safety guidelines issued by the state, the community, or by this race for your participation in this race.
What’s Your Refund & Cancellation Policy?
- All registration fees are non-refundable. This policy applies to all registrants whether you are injured, have an unexpected family/business emergency, have a medical emergency, or the event time changed due to circumstances beyond our control, there are no refunds.
If the in-person portion of The Golden Heart Run 2024 is canceled for any reason, and we pivot to a virtual run, registered participants will receive their medal and shirt after the virtual run. If you are unable to run remotely with us, we will create an option for you to donate your registration. If we are forced to go virtual and you do not want your t-shirt or medal, you can contact us to initiate a refund at info@goldenheartfund.org.
